As Catholic, we may undoubtedly feel we lack something in our observance of Holy Week since we are quarantined at our houses at this time. One thing we can't do for sure is the Visita Iglesia where traditionally we Catholics go out to visit 7 churches (or for some 14 churches) to pray to the Blessed Sacrament. This pilgrimage is customarily done on Holy Thursday after the Mass of the Lord's Supper where the Blessed Sacrament is placed on church altar or designated tabernacle opened until late night for silent adoration.
But God is everywhere. In the silence of our hearts, we know we can traverse to the churches we normally visit imaginatively to do this custom and say our deep prayers to petition the end of the pandemic and eventually heal everything that has been part of this outbreak.
I found an interesting way of leaping one page to another and getting the feel of actually entering my favourite churches in the Philippines....just like I was doing it way back when I do my actual Visita Iglesia. Feel free to visit them too and together let's say our fervent prayers. [For each intention, say and include one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be]
Walkthrough to 14 great churches in the Philippines:
7. National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage and the Immaculate Conception (Antipolo Church)
10. Binondo Church
All are in 360degree and zoomable view.
Blessed Holy Week!
